On November 17, Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with some guests attending 2024 the 7th China International PV and Energy Storage Industry Conference in Chengdu. Shi Xiaolin extended a welcome to the entrepreneurs and expressed gratitude for their long-standing support for the development of Sichuan. Shi Xiaolin stated that in recent years, Sichuan has integrated the photovoltaic and energy storage industries into its action plan for enhancing the quality and doubling the value of the six major advantageous industries, provided support for these sectors as key industrial chains of the province, and established a full-chain layout. Sichuan Province has emerged as a national leader in terms of industrial scale and the level of innovative development in these sectors. The photovoltaic industry is currently navigating a landscape of new challenges and issues. We must deepen collaborative initiatives, jointly seize new trends, forge new advantages, seek opportunities amidst challenges, turn crises into opportunities, and maintain steady progress. We need to seize the major opportunities presented by strategies, including the development of the western region in the new era, the construction of a national strategic hinterland, and the development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, actively respond to changes in the industrial and supply chains, and attract more of upstream and downstream enterprises to Sichuan for expansion. We should further improve the industrial ecosystem to foster cluster aggregation for growth, explore integrated development models such as "Green Electricity + Computing Power", "Green Electricity + Tourism", and "Green Electricity + Industrial Parks" in areas rich in clean energy, and actively institute a product carbon footprint labeling system. We must utilize platforms like Sichuan's international friendship cities cooperation initiatives to enhance our joint endeavors in "going global" and actively penetrate new market segments. We will continue to consolidate and enhance our leading position in the industries and the competitive advantage across the entire industrial chain, foster and expand new quality productive forces, and consistently shape new drivers of high-quality development. I wish the current conference a complete success.

The entrepreneurs expressed great optimism about Sichuan's distinctive strengths in development and its expansive potential for future growth. They will increase their investment layout, strengthen innovation efforts, and expand industrial chains, aiming to work together with Sichuan to achieve mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. They will help Sichuan build itself into a globally competitive highland for innovation, industry, and the application of photovoltaic and energy storage sectors, thereby making greater contributions to its high-quality development.
