Wang Xiaohui Meets with Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of Russia Rustam Minnikhanov |

On November 20, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, met with a delegation led by Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, in Chengdu.
During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui extended a welcome to Rustam Minnikhanov and the delegation for their visit to Sichuan and briefed them on the province's economic and social developments. Noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, Wang Xiaohui stated that under the strategic guidance of leaders of the two countries, China-Russia relations have continued to develop at a high level, setting a good example for a new type of international relations and relations between neighboring major countries. Local cooperation is an important component of the pragmatic cooperation between China and Russia. Sichuan and the Republic of Tatarstan, sharing a friendly provincial-state relationship, have achieved fruitful outcomes in various cooperation domains amidst the deepening China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era. It is hoped that our two sides will earnestly implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, make consistent efforts to tap cooperative potentials under the "Yangtze-Volga" regional cooperation mechanism, target more areas of industrial complementarity to continuously expand economic and trade investment, further enhance interconnectivity, deepen cooperation in such fields as education, science and technology, health, sports, culture, and tourism, and elevate the friendly ties between our two sides to new heights, thereby jointly injecting regional vitality into the high-level development of China-Russia relations.
Rustam Minnikhanov expressed his appreciation for Sichuan's accomplishments in economic and social development. Highlighting that Russia-China relations are at their highest level in history, he said Tatarstan values its friendship with Sichuan and is very optimistic about the prospects for cooperation between the two sides. As one of the most economically developed federal subjects of Russia, Tatarstan is willing to further deepen and expand exchanges and collaborative efforts in various fields with Sichuan built on the solid foundation of our existing cooperation, striving for more tangible outcomes and contributing to the development of Russia-China relations.
Provincial leaders Chen Wei and Pubu Dunzhu, relevant government officials of the Republic of Tatarstan, and leading officials from relevant provincial departments participated. |
