Beginning in Chengdu, known as the "City of Pandas", a travel route weaving through the abundant giant panda-themed cultural and tourism resources in Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces presents a one-of-a-kind adventure for panda enthusiasts worldwide. The Global Panda Partners 2024 conference, inaugurated in Chengdu on November 26, unveiled this unique Sichuan-Shaanxi-Gansu giant panda tourism route.
The Sichuan-Shaanxi-Gansu tourism route, centered on the Giant Panda National Park, is China's first national-level tour route themed around giant pandas. Its goal is to optimize the utilization of the park's natural resources and to promote environmental education through ecological tourism initiatives. The itinerary kicks off in Chengdu and winds through a variety of Sichuan's highlights, including the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Dujiangyan, Jianmen Pass, and the Cuiyun Corridor. The journey leads north from the Chengdu Plain to the Minshan Mountains, entering Gansu Province, where it includes stops at the Jianshan Giant Panda Nature Reserve in Wenxian County, the vast Tanchang Grassland, and the enchanting Wudu Wanxiang Cave. The journey then proceeds eastward, providing the chance to immerse in the breathtaking scenery of the Zibai Mountain National Forest Park, the Honghe Valley Forest Park, and the Taibai Mountain National Forest Park in Shaanxi Province, culminating in the city of Xi'an. This itinerary will guide travelers into the giant pandas' natural habitat, allowing them to behold the marvels of the natural world and appreciate the profound depth of historical and cultural heritage.
During the conference, Chengdu unveiled the "Panda Homeland - Giant Panda Themed Tourist Routes", comprising three distinct itineraries: the "Giant Panda Charm Tour" in Chengdu, the "Giant Panda Ecological Tour" in Dujiangyan, and the "Giant Panda Exploration Tour" in Wolong National Nature Reserve. Simultaneously, Chengdu launched the "Panda Culture and Creativity Partner Initiative", intending to establish a holistic support system spanning industries, government, markets, platforms, and finance for the world's first cultural and creative competition inspired by giant pandas - the "Panda Homeland" Culture &Creativity Contest. This initiative is geared towards fostering participating ideas from inception to realization, collectively positioning Chengdu as a global hub for panda-themed cultural and creative intellectual property. |
