On May 12, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, met in Chengdu with the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami and the delegation.

During the meeting, Wang Xiaohui extended a welcome to Rachid Talbi Alami for his visit to Sichuan and briefed him on the province's economic and social developments. He said that China and Morocco have forged an enduring friendship, and in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China and Morocco have established a strategic partnership, leading to leapfrog development in bilateral relations. Within this context, the interaction and exchanges between Sichuan and Morocco have intensified and achieved fruitful results, laying a solid foundation for further deepening and expanding the mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields. At present, we are thoroughly studying and acting on the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the important instructions by General Secretary Xi Jinping on Sichuan's development, committed to steering Sichuan's modernization with Chinese modernization, and unwavering in our pursuit of higher-standard opening up. These efforts create favorable opportunities for countries and regions, including Morocco, to enhance their engagement and collaboration with Sichuan. It is hoped that the current visit of Your Excellency the Speaker of the House of Representatives will further promote collaboration between Sichuan and Morocco in areas such as economic and trade investment, resource development, education and technology, healthcare, and cultural tourism, yield tangible outcomes, and significantly contribute to the greater advancement of China-Morocco relations. Sichuan Provincial People's Congress is ready to enhance interactions and share experiences with Morocco's legislative institutions at all levels, thereby fostering an environment conducive to practical cooperation between the two sides.

Rachid Talbi Alami spoke highly of Sichuan's achievements in economic and social development. He said that Morocco cherishes its longstanding friendship with China and attaches importance to developing relations with China. Sichuan, a key province in China's western region, is experiencing robust growth. We are very positive about the potential for collaboration between our two sides. We are ready to give full play to the role of the legislative bodies, further advance friendly cooperation across various sectors between Morocco and Sichuan, strengthen the bond between our peoples, and foster shared prosperity and mutual development.
