On the evening of June 27, the launch ceremony for the Sichuan-Chongqing Summer Cultural and Tourism Consumption Season and the "Explore Ziyang-Dazu, Embrace Joyful Summer" event was held in the Yanjiang District of Ziyang City. The event was guided by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Commission and hosted by the Ziyang Municipal People's Government and the Dazu District People's Government of Chongqing Municipality.
This summer, Sichuan Province is set to launch a multifaceted strategy comprising new policies, initiatives and activities. Over 1,400 events are planned to welcome tourists from far and wide, accompanied by measures such as cultural and tourism consumption coupons and the introduction of preferential consumer financial products, aimed at further stimulating cultural and tourism consumption vitality.
During the ceremony, a leading official from the Department of Culture and Tourism announced the launch of the "Cool Summer" cultural and tourism consumption season series of activities under the "Relaxed Sichuan, Explore Tianfu" campaign. During the series of activities, Sichuan will harness national demonstration cities and pilot cities for cultural and tourism consumption, and national-level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption clusters as exemplars, consistently implement action plans on boosting cultural and tourism consumption and innovative strategies for nighttime cultural and tourism, and roll out over 1,400 events centered around eight major themes including knowing Ba-Shu in tour, rural scenery and charm, Tianfu nightlife, artistic expression in Tianfu, dynamic Ba-Shu activities, vibrant Tianfu experiences, digital intelligence Tianfu, and enriching travel opportunities in Tianfu. This initiative strives to offer a novel consumption experience to the extensive tourist base, persistently enhancing both the quality and scale of consumption.
In addition to the main venue, this summer's event has designated Chengdu, a national demonstration city for cultural and tourism consumption, along with the pilot cities of Leshan, Luzhou, Mianyang, Nanchong and Yibin as sub-venues. These locations will showcase the unique features and highlights of their respective summer consumption seasons through video linkups. Among the venues, Chengdu embraces the theme "Roam Chengdu's Streets · Your Dream Summer Destinations" and distributes 30 million yuan worth of "Chengdu, A Joyful Summer in Tianfu" cultural and tourism consumption coupons nationwide.
Additionally, financial empowerment will continue to drive consumption upgrades. During the consumption season, the Department of Culture and Tourism will partner with China UnionPay Sichuan to conduct cultural and tourism consumption promotion activities. UnionPay Sichuan intends to allocate 34 million yuan towards initiatives like "Beneficial for All in Sichuan, Daily Discounts with Scanning", "Card Discounts in District Shopping", "Travel Discounts", and "Exclusive Benefits on Project Excellence 2024". The Department will also advocate for the introduction of preferential consumer financial products and a series of summer cultural and tourism consumption benefits in collaboration with Sichuan Bank. The Bank intends to invest 40 million yuan in dedicated funds for specialized support, encompassing multiple discounts on airfare, hotels, homestays and supermarket shopping.
This summer's event specifically adopts a dual-city joint promotion format linking Ziyang and Dazu, establishing a platform for communication, exchange and cooperation to multifacetedly stimulate the vitality of cultural and tourism consumption in both regions. During the launch ceremony, Ziyang and Dazu highlighted their characteristic tourism resources and boutique tourist routes, themed around "Explore Ziyang-Dazu, Embrace Joyful Summer".
