On September 2, the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Chengdu, aiming at comprehensively promoting the high-quality development of Sichuan's civil aviation. Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, and Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with the delegation led by Song Zhiyong, Administrator of CAAC, and they jointly witnessed the signing of the agreement.

Wang Xiaohui and Shi Xiaolin, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, thanked CAAC for its long-standing support for Sichuan's economic and social development. Wang Xiaohui said that Sichuan plays a distinctive and significant role in the national development agenda, especially in the implementation of the Western Development Strategy. When inspecting Sichuan last year, General Secretary Xi Jinping explicitly requested the construction of a strategic highland for opening up to the west and a new base for participating in international competition. The third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee made major plans for further reforming the integrated transportation system, among other measures. All of these have brought significant opportunities and injected strong momentum into the high-quality development of civil aviation in Sichuan. We will take this signing as an opportunity to accelerate the construction of key airport projects within the province, continuously elevate the air passenger and cargo transportation capacities, actively carry out pilot application demonstrations of the low-altitude economy, foster the development of new quality productive forces in the civil aviation field, and better use the high-quality development of civil aviation to boost Sichuan's modernization drive. It is hoped that the CAAC will provide Sichuan with more care and support for major reforms and projects, as well as policy, financial, and resource guarantees, among other forms of assistance. The provincial Party committee and the provincial government will, as always, support the development of civil aviation units in Sichuan, promote in-depth and practical cooperation between the CAAC and the province, and strive to achieve more substantial results.

At the signing ceremony, Tian Qingying, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, and Han Jun, Deputy Administrator of CAAC, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides. According to the agreement, the two sides will deepen cooperation in areas such as advancing the high-quality construction of the Chengdu international aviation hub, enhancing the infrastructure level of the hub airports, improving the layout and functions of feeder airports, and vigorously promoting the growth of the low-altitude economy, to comprehensively drive the high-quality development of civil aviation in the province.

Also present were Cao Lijun, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, Chen Wei, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and Wang Fengchao, Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government, as well as leading officials from relevant departments and bureaus of CAAC and relevant provincial departments, among others.
