From September 2 to 3, Sichuan Province organized a series of events commemorating the tenth anniversary of the strategic cooperation between the province and universities. On the afternoon of September 2, Wang Xiaohui, Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Chairman of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People's Congress, and Shi Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with university leaders participating in the Sichuan Innovative Development Promotion Conference for the 10th Anniversary of Province-University Strategic Cooperation, and they also witnessed the signing of strategic cooperation agreements between the province and seven universities.

Wang Xiaohui and Shi Xiaolin, on behalf of the provincial Party committee and the provincial government, expressed thanks to the partner universities for their sustained and positive contributions to advancing Sichuan's economic and social development. Wang Xiaohui stated that in recent years, under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, we have been steadfastly implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions regarding Sichuan's work, achieving continuous advancements in Sichuan's governance. Throughout this process, we persistently view the advancement of province-university strategic cooperation as a crucial approach to steer high-quality development via innovation-driven strategies. By engaging in numerous pragmatic collaborations with partner universities, we have realized a synergy of complementary strengths and mutual benefits, thereby furnishing robust support for driving high-quality economic and social development in Sichuan. As we embark on the new journey of advancing Sichuan's modernization on all fronts, our need for the support of science, technology, and talent is greater now than at any previous time. It is expected to leverage the tenth anniversary of the province-university strategic cooperation as an opportunity to continuously broaden the domains and deepen the levels of collaboration between the province and universities, strive to attain a batch of significant accomplishments in strategic advisory services, sci-tech innovation, commercialization and application of research outcomes, the recruitment and development of exceptional talents, and other aspects, propelling the province's rapid development into a powerhouse in education, technology, and human capital. We are committed to continually refining our service and support mechanisms, fostering favorable conditions and an exemplary environment for the growth of universities within Sichuan. Together, we will forge ahead into a new ground of province-university strategic cooperation.

Yu Lijun, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Organization Department of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, chaired the signing ceremony for the province-university strategic cooperation agreement and provided an overview of the relevant situation. Vice Governor Zuo Yongxiang signed agreements respectively with persons in charge from China University of Political Science and Law, Tianjin University, Jilin University, Zhejiang University, Beihang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Nanjing University of Science and Technology, each representing their respective sides. The province has initiated strategic collaboration with China University of Political Science and Law and Nanjing University of Science and Technology for the first time and, additionally, opened a new phase of comprehensively deepening strategic collaboration with the other five higher education institutions.

On the afternoon of September 3, the Sichuan Innovative Development Promotion Conference for the 10th Anniversary of Province-University Strategic Cooperation was held. Yu Lijun attended the conference and delivered a speech. The conference highlighted that since Sichuan launched the province-university strategic cooperation in 2014, the province and its partner universities have focused on driving high-quality development and achieved a transformative leap in their collaboration, which progresses from the initial stage to a well-established framework, and then onward to a phase of comprehensive growth momentum. To deepen province-university cooperation, we must adhere to our goals with unwavering focus, tackle issues persistently, and maintain a relentless pursuit of results, ensuring that we maintain a steadfast commitment to province-university cooperation from end to beginning. We must further elevate the level of projects, amplify the platform effect, strengthen outcome orientation, and, through practical and resolute actions, enhance the quality of province-university cooperation. We must create new models tailored to local conditions, open up new arenas closely aligned with industries, expand into new business formats by keeping pace with the times, and, through innovative initiatives, invigorate the vitality of province-university cooperation. We must leverage organizational strengths to build a cohesive force, deepen cooperation through coordinated initiatives, implement responsibilities with strict assessments, and, through efficient collaboration, ensure the effectiveness of province-university cooperation.

Before the conference, the attendees also visited the Chengdu Center of Frontier Medicine, Chengdu Science and Technology Innovation Eco-Island, and Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute for inspection and research.

Participants in the related activities include Chen Wei, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee, and leading officials from relevant provincial departments, among others.
